Azamara to feature in new TV series

Azamara Club Cruises, the luxury Royal Caribbean owned line, is to appear in a new wildlife TV series this May.

The programme, called Cruise Ship Adventures, will be presented by Nigel Marven, a wildlife TV presenter, and debut on the UKTV channel Watch.

Each episode of the series will focus on destinations that feature on Azamara’s itineraries, with Marven highlighting the wildlife that can be found in that part of the world.

Marven said: “Anyone who’s been on a cruise will be astounded by the peculiar creatures we encounter in visits to ports of call. The best bit was sharing my passion for wildlife – taking Azamara’s captains, entertainers and guests on adventures with everything from puffins to pipefish, whales to woodpeckers and caecilians to sloths!”

Highlights of the TV series include seeing humpback whales in Antarctica and playing with baby penguins on the ice.

Richard Twynam, Azamara Club Cruises’ managing Director UK & Ireland, said, “We were thrilled to welcome Nigel on board. Nigel’s enthusiasm for exploration and discovery goes hand-in-hand with the experiences we are committed to offering our guests and we hope that Cruise Ship Adventures will inspire culture-seekers to consider future adventures with us.”
