Benetti Debuts Two 67m Hybrid Steel Superyachts in Livorno

Bryan Conrad

There was a real sense of activity at Benetti’s yard in Livorno as the first two hybrid B. Now 67M Steel yachts, Symmetry and Dagger, were launched within a matter of weeks.

First came Symmetry, and just three weeks later, Dagger followed her into the water, marking a significant moment for the shipyard. It’s not every day that two sister ships of this size are launched back-to-back.

Built with steel hulls and aluminium superstructures, the 67-metre yachts share the same platform but already show how differently that foundation can be interpreted.

Their exterior lines, designed by RWD, feel strong yet understated, with a layout that naturally draws attention to the stern.

The Oasis Deck is a defining feature on both yachts. With fold-out side wings and an infinity pool stretching toward the horizon, the space opens up into a wide terrace that feels directly connected to the sea. It’s designed for long afternoons at anchor, where indoor and outdoor living blend without effort.

Same Platform, Completely Different Feel

Although Symmetry and Dagger are built from the same blueprint, their interiors couldn’t be more distinct. Symmetry’s interior, created by Reymond Langton Design, leans into soft colors and subtle textures.

Light tones, custom materials, and carefully chosen finishes give her a calm and welcoming atmosphere. A sculptural crystal chandelier adds a quiet sense of drama without overpowering the space.

Dagger, on the other hand, carries a stronger design identity. Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design shaped her interior with natural tones and nine different wood types, creating depth and contrast throughout.

The owner also chose to dedicate certain areas as private art galleries, complete with display shelves and illuminated niches for sculptures and paintings. It’s a yacht that feels curated, almost like a floating exhibition space.

Hybrid Power Meets Practical Thinking

Beyond the aesthetics, both yachts are equipped with hybrid propulsion systems designed to adapt to different cruising situations.

Engines, generators, and batteries can work together in various combinations, helping reduce fuel consumption and allow quieter operation when needed.

Variable pitch propellers adjust depending on speed and sea conditions, improving efficiency across the board. Even the heat generated onboard is reused to warm water and the pool, ensuring energy doesn’t go to waste.

The twin launches also follow other recent milestones in the Dutch superyacht sector, including Oceanco’s completion of a major rebuild of the 93-metre Draak earlier this year.

For Benetti, these two launches represent more than just deliveries. They reflect a shift in what owners are asking for yachts that combine classic steel construction with smarter technology and a more thoughtful approach to life at sea.
