Brad Curtin Joins Ikonic Yachts, Bringing 25 Years of Experience

Ikonic Yachts has welcomed Brad Curtin as its new Senior Sales Advisor, adding someone whose career in yachting truly began on the water.

With more than 25 years in the industry, Curtin isn’t someone who learned yachts from brochures or boardrooms. He learned them by working his way up, one job at a time.

A Career Shaped by Life at Sea

Brad Curtin’s path into yachting started early, back when he was a teenager working as a deckhand in Long Island.

Growing up in New York and spending winters in South Florida, he quickly became comfortable around boats and life on the water. By just 18 years old, Curtin had earned his captain’s licence, an early sign that yachting wasn’t just a summer job for him.

Over the next two decades, he steadily moved up, captaining larger yachts and taking on more complex responsibilities.

That hands-on time gave him a deep understanding of how yachts actually operate, from technical systems to crew dynamics and owner expectations. It’s experience that can’t be learned secondhand, and it’s something Curtin still relies on today.

Why Ikonic Felt Like the Right Fit

When Curtin transitioned into yacht sales, he carried that same practical mindset with him. He’s been involved in several major deals, including the sale of a 47-metre new-build yacht, but those who work with him say he’s never been driven by quick wins.

Instead, Curtin is known for listening carefully and helping clients find a yacht that genuinely suits how they want to use it.

Ikonic Yachts CEO AJ Blackmon said Curtin’s honest and straightforward approach fits perfectly with what the company is building.

Ikonic isn’t trying to be the biggest brokerage in the room. Its focus is on thoughtful advice, strong relationships, and doing things the right way.

For Curtin, joining Ikonic is a natural next step, allowing him to work with like-minded people while continuing to guide clients with clarity and care.

With decades spent both at sea and in sales, Curtin brings a grounded perspective that’s increasingly rare in today’s yacht market.
