Chris Townson leaves Scenic

Chris Townson, the managing director of Scenic, has left the business with immediate effect. The company has hired Colin Downing as its UK general manager.

“Colin is a very experienced manager, who has recently been working for us on a number of group projects and I am pleased to announce his appointment to head up the UK team.” said Anna Wolfsteiner, Senior Vice President International Sales & Distribution, Scenic.

Downing said: “As one of the world’s leading tour and river cruise companies Scenic and Emerald Waterways are a very exciting business and one I’m proud to be part of. We have some great people in the team alongside best in class products. Indeed our recent Feefo Gold Service accreditation as voted for by our guests is testament.”

Downing has held a number of senior positions in travel and leisure, having worked at Riviera Travel, The Late Rooms Group, Merlin Entertainments, Lego Land and MyTravel.
