Disney Cruise Line reveals plans for third new ship
Disney Cruise Line has announced that it is to add another ship to its global fleet, the third that the company has under construction.
The ship will be the seventh in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet. The announcement was made at the D23 expo in California by Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
“We decided two ships wouldn’t be enough to hold all of the exciting new experiences we have been dreaming up to take family cruise vacations to a whole new level with immersive Disney storytelling, world-class family entertainment, and imaginative innovations that are fantastically fun and uniquely Disney,” Chapek said. “By the time all three new ships are sailing, we’ll have nearly doubled the size of our existing fleet.”

Last year the company announced that it would be building two new ships, which will be launching in 2021 and 2023. The third ship will be completed in 2022.
The new ships, which will run on LNG, will have 1,250 staterooms – slightly bigger than the Disney Dream and Fantasy.
