German shipyard Lurssen has unveiled a 117-meter superyacht, the Boardwalk, in a spectacular show of a maritime engineering masterpiece, which is a milestone in the construction of luxury yachts.

The ship, which was called Project 13797, appeared in the facilities of the yard in Lemwerder, Germany, on December 5, 2025, on cloudy skies, which did not do much to dampen the enthusiasm of this gigantic project.

Boardwalk is currently in final outfitting at the pier of the shipyard, with delivery scheduled in 2026, a mash-up of European artisanship and American design elegance to come up with a floating masterpiece.

A Blend of Classics and Contemporary Luxury

Boardwalk has a magnificent beachfront profile in white with six decks, crisp classical lines that bring out the classic beauty. The exterior and the interior of the yacht are designed by Frank Woll and Amy Halffman, and they demonstrate the perfect combination of style and practicality.

The owner, who is highly interested in the process, helped in the overall set-up, flow on board and styling of the vessel, so that it can help to make it a perfect family getaway in the water. The wide decks are packed with various entertainment spots, thus ideal for free time activities and socialisation.

It also has a number of exceptional features, such as two helipads, one certified and located on the front of the guest deck to ensure that the flows of aviation go on smoothly. The aft deck features a large beach club with a large pool and a spa pool that is adjacent to it, where one can relax.

The lifestyle comforts take the experience to a higher level, where a spacious gym is available to the fitness enthusiasts and a putting green where people can have casual recreations. Boardwalk, with a volume of about 5,350 gross tons, is a great improvement in terms of volume and capability over its predecessors, with tremendous interior capacity and technical capability.

The Vision Behind the Vessel

Boardwalk, commissioned by the richest restaurateur in the U.S. today, Tilman Fertitta, and the current U.S. Ambassador to Italy, is the latest project in a long line of popular yachts named the same. Fertitta shucked shrimp to start his career, but he has constructed a multi-million dollar empire, which includes this marvel of 450 million dollars and is estimated to cost him 40 million a year to run.

His sixth Boardwalk, and successor to a line of Westport models and a 76.5-meter Feadship in 2021. The new version is much larger than the first, as it has increased in size by nearly 1,900 GT to well over 5,000 GT, highlighting the fact that Fertitta would like to explore more of the ocean.

The two helipads on the yacht are in line with the lifestyle of Fertitta, which includes his Airbus H130 to make quick shuttles between his yacht, which is at Civitavecchia and his responsibilities as an ambassador in Rome, which is just 10 minutes away. Such an arrangement turns Boardwalk into a versatile aviation platform, suitable for either diplomatic travel or family travel.

Setting Sail into the Future

It is likely to be one of the largest yachts in the fleet of more than 20 large yachts of Lurssen, as Boardwalk relishes its debut in 2026 and perhaps in April, making it one of the largest: Ahpo, Golden Odyssey.

The yacht is constructed to the standards of the Lloyd Register and the keel was laid in August 2023. Since that time, it has been through carefully sequenced construction phases. Outfitting will be followed by sea trials, which guarantee optimum performance on international voyages.

Not only does this introduction indicate 150 years of Lurssen history, but it is also an indicator of the changes in the superyachts, where customisation and luxury are matched in the same breath. To Fertitta, Boardwalk is not just a ship but a floating palace with the representation of success and family heritage on the high water.
