MSC grows sales team with Amanda Elgie
MSC Cruises UK & Ireland has hired Amanda Elgie to the newly created position of regional sales manager covering the North East & Yorkshire. The company also announced that it was hiring for a new position in the Republic of Ireland.
Elgie joins from Collette Travel where she was business development manager. She has also held positions at AmaWaterways and Thomas Cook.
Steve Williams, director of sales added: “We are absolutely thrilled for Amanda to join us at such an exciting time at MSC Cruises, with 10 new ships being delivered over the coming years the trade will be critical to our exciting growth plans in the UK and Amanda brings a wealth of experience and understands the needs of our high street partners whilst having a strong passion and energy for cruise, she has excellent relationships with the trade in the North East already so will be able to hit the ground running.”
Elgie added: “It’s such an exciting time to be joining the team at MSC with the commitment of so many new cruise ships over the coming years. My previous experience working in the cruising sector is something I loved and I cannot wait to get stuck in with the agents in the North East & Yorkshire and to develop MSC Cruises to the next level.”
Elgie will join the team on April 3 and report into Andrea Stafford, MSC’s head of retail.
