Riviera updates agent portal
Riviera Travel is to launch a new travel agent portal, the company has announced.
The updated site, which matches the customer-facing version to make it easier to know what itinerary customers want to book, launches on December 7.
Once logged in, agents are able to add their own details so that commission can be attributed directly to the agent who made the booking. There is also the choice for agents to ‘hold an option’ as well as make a booking and create a trip.
The agent portal will be fully bookable. However, if agents do choose to hold an option then it will need to be confirmed with a phone call.
Joseph Grimly, head of agency sales, said: “We’re very excited to launch our brand new travel agent portal, which has been in development for quite a long time now.
“To be able to access this via the main website is a huge step forward as some agents weren’t aware that we had online booking as they simply googled ‘Riviera Travel’ and arrived at the main consumer site. They were blissfully unaware of www.rivieratravel.co.uk/agents. Not only is it easier to find, it’s far more intuitive and easy for agents to navigate and make online bookings.
“For the first time we have now introduced a ‘file copy’ brochure ordering service, which homeworkers should find particularly useful. This is phase 1 of the new portal. For phase 2 we will be adding further functionality including downloading of window posters and access to our image library.
We really hope agents like it and find it useful.”
The company also confirmed that it has updated its training modules on OTT, which can be found here: www.rivieraexpert.com.
The Burton-on-Trent tour operator currently runs European and Asian river cruises, yacht cruises, tall ship holidays as well as a specialist programme for solo travellers.
