Royal Caribbean reveals new features for Independence of the Seas
Royal Caribbean International has revealed some of the new features that will be on board Independence of the Seas when it begins its ex-UK season in May.
A new virtual reality experience named Sky Pad will see guests strapped into a bungee trampoline and fitted with a VR headset. They will then be transported to places like the Moon’s surface where they can jump over craters on its rocky surface.
Independence of the Seas is due to be fitted with a number of other features following its multimillion pound makeover, including The Perfect Storm twin waterslides; an extended Splashaway Bay, the interactive waterpark for children and toddlers; and Glow-in-the-dark laser tag.
There will also be a paid-for escape the room experience called Puzzle Break.
New restaurants on board include Fish and Ships (a fish and ships restaurant) and Sugar Beach Candy & Ice Cream Store.
Royal Caribbean is currently running an agent for travel agents to win a place on Independence of the Seas using the hashtag #getmeonindy
