Saga to run solo traveller river cruise
Saga Holidays is to run its first river cruise purely for solo travellers.
The seven-day Rhine itinerary will depart on October 14, 2016 from Bonn. Passengers will have the option to travel by coach from Folkstone to the ship, via the Eurotunnel.
Passengers will board the 52-passenger MS Arlene, which moors overnight in Bonn, before being treated to a cocktail party.
Andrew Iwasyszyn, the company’s river cruise creator, said:”More than a fifth of our customers are solo travellers so being able to offer an exclusive solo cruise made absolute sense. Our smaller-sized ships have a pleasant, intimate atmosphere, perfect in which to make friends in and feel at home.”
Shore excursions include a visit to Beethoven’s former residence and the Electoral Palace.
The cruise will also call at Koblenz, with an optional tour of Ehrenbreitstein Fortress; the wine making region of Rudesheim; Andernach; Nijmegen; Arnhem; and Cologne.
Prices start from £999 and includes beers and wine with lunch and dinner.
