Viking wins gold at RHS garden show
Viking Cruises has been awarded a gold medal for its garden at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show.
The entry, called Viking Cruises Scandinavian Garden, follows last year’s gold-winning Mekong Garden.
This year’s winner was designed by Stephen Hall, above, in the water garden category.
According to a release from the company: “the garden took inspiration from by the wild, natural beauty of Scandinavia, drawing on Nordic heritage and traditional ways of life to give visitors at the show a taste of just one of the inspiring and culturally enriching destinations available to explore on Viking’s many cruises.”
Stephen Hall said “Nature is ever present in the form of sedges, ferns and grasses, while native trees and shrubs provide the backdrop. The garden evokes a traditional Scandinavian way of life where comfort and beauty is drawn from the simplest things.”
Wendy Atkin-Smith, managing director of Viking Cruises UK said “The Viking Cruises Scandinavian Garden’ draws on Nordic heritage and traditional ways of life to give visitors at the show a taste of just one of the inspiring and culturally enriching destinations available to explore on Viking’s many cruises.”
