CruisingExcursions hires sales director

Cruisingexcursions.com, the shore excursion specialist, has announced that Martin Lomax has joined the company as sales director.

Lomax will be responsible for sales & business development as well as the continued growth in the UK and international markets. He will report to Damien Mooney, Cruising Excursions’ managing director and work closely with Simonne Fairbanks, the chief operating officer.

Mooney said: “Martin is well established and respected in the UK travel trade, his results driven and strategic approach, drive, creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and in-depth knowledge of the industry will all serve to further build on Cruising Excursions’ position as the leading shore excursion provider in the UK.”

Lomax added: “This role represents a fantastic opportunity to grow commercial opportunities and increase brand awareness for Cruising Excursions.

“The last five years have been exciting for Cruising Excursions, successfully launching a range of products in the marketplace and achieving high guest satisfaction scores of over 91%, according to Feefo.

“It’s now my responsibility to build on this success, to work closely and grow travel agent partnerships and ensure that more UK & Overseas travellers experience the great value excursions and tours.”

Lomax has held previous positions at Virgin Holidays, Mytravel, Thomas Cook and Gold Medal Travel Group. He was a director at Travel Innovation Group and High Street TV.

Damien Mooney added: “Martin’s appointment underpins our commitment to working even closer with our strong travel trade partnerships both in the UK and overseas.  We currently have a lot going on, business is booming and Martin will be invaluable to help implement our expansion plans. At the launch of cruisingexcursions.com in 2011 the product was described as innovative and five years later it’s still the case, there really is nobody else operating on the same scale, with pre-bookable, competitively priced shore excursions.”
