UK and Ireland
Lynn Narraway, the UK managing director of Holland America Line and Seabourn has become the new chairwoman of Clia UK and Ireland, replacing Jo Rzymowska, the UK managing director of Celebrity Cruises.
Rzymowska has retired her position as chairwoman at Clia after her four-year tenure came to an end.
On taking up her position Narraway said: “I am delighted to become chair at such an exciting time for cruise members. We are seeing the introduction of new, innovative ships offering amazing experiences and exceptional service. The membership of Clia UK and Ireland continues to grow and we now have 52 different cruise line members. With such a great choice, we know that once on board holidaymakers will have a fantastic time so I look forward to building on the great work already undertaken in promoting cruise holidays and continuing to see the industry grow.”
Retiring chair Jo Rzymowska said: “I have had four phenomenal years as chair and I hand over to Lynn confident that the organisation will go on to deliver more great things. The cruise industry has worked together over recent years to focus on delivering greater trade, consumer and media engagement and this has delivered significant benefits including sector growth. The support agents enjoy has also been enhanced and I’m proud to hand over the reins at a time when Clia is truly going from strength to strength.”
Andy Harmer, Clia UK and Ireland director, added: “I would like to thank Jo for her contribution to the work of Clia and it’s hard to find a more passionate advocate of cruising. I would also like to welcome Lynn to her new position and with her wealth of experience, we are assured of the continued development of the association.”
