Princess confirms new ship for 2019

Princess Cruises has confirmed that it has signed a deal on a new ship, due for delivery in 2019.

The new vessel, which will be built by Italian shipyard Fincantieri, will hold about 3,560 guests.

The announcement, made last week by Princess Cruises’ parent company, Carnival Corporation, will increase Princess’ fleet to 19.

The vessel will be a sister ship to Royal Princess, Regal Princess and Majestic Princess, which is due to launch in 2017.

The as-yet unnamed vessel will cost of about €600m.
In a statement, Princess said it would confirm the ship’s deployment at a later date.

Tony Roberts, vice president of Princess Cruises UK, said: “We’re incredibly excited to confirm that Princess Cruises’ growth continues with the order of another royal class ship. Demand and confidence in Princess has never been higher and we’re delighted that in just a few years’ time even more guests will get the chance to travel with us in style to over 360 destinations across the world.”
