The Big Four – adventure: cruises in South America
From an expedition point of view, South America is often referred to as the gateway to Antarctica, with many voyages to the white continent starting in southern Argentina. However, for us to do that would be to ignore everything else the region has to offer such as the Amazon river, Chilean fjords and Galapagos Islands – and of course land tours to Unesco world heritage site Machu Picchu. Below is a selection of our favourites.
Following on from the publication of Cruise Adviser’s Expedition & Adventure guide 2015-16, each week we will be running our Big Four feature, which gives you a trio of cruise options to choose from. This week it’s cruises to South America.

Research the itinerary you are offering and if there is something else that a client wants to do – for instance Machu Picchu – consider a pre- or –post cruise stay
