1 in 3 don’t check travel advice before going abroad
One in three Britons do not check any travel advice before going abroad, according to new research by ABTA.
The travel associaton is supporting its members to make customers aware of the FCO advice with online training, launched earlier this year. It is particularly relevant for frontline staff and was developed in response to members’ request for support on how to respond to challenging questions. Members can access this training directly at abta.com/abtaknowledgezone.
Research shows that the majority of Britons (67 per cent) who have travelled abroad for a holiday did check advice for their destination.
Advice concerning local currency, healthcare (including vaccinations), entry requirements and safety and security were the most searched for topics.
ABTA is holding its popular Communicating FCO and other Travel Advice to Customers seminar in Manchester on July 11, which will offer further in help in communicating travel advice. ABTA.com
