Emerald Waterways to launch two new ships in 2017
Emerald Waterways has announced plans to launch two new ships, the Emerald Liberté and Emerald Radiance, in 2017.
The river cruise line, which will add Emerald Belle this year, will bring its fleet to a total of seven ships.
The Emerald Liberté will sail on the Rhône and Saône rivers in France, while the Emerald Radiance will be dedicated to a new itinerary on the Douro river in Portugal.
The new vessels will be smaller versions of the the line’s Star-Ships in order to navigate the rivers’ structures.
The Emerald Liberté will carry 138 guests in 70 suites and staterooms, while the Emerald Radiance will carry 112 guests in 56 suites and staterooms.
Both ships will have a three-to-one guest-to-crew ratio.
The Emerald Liberté will travel from Lyon to Arles passing through Chalon-Sur-Saone, Tournon and Avignon.
Passengers on Emerald Radiance, on the Douro, will visit Porto, the Roman settlement of Regua and Vega de Terron and Salamanca in Spain.
Launch offers for the seven-night sailings will start at £1,595 per person for the Douro and £1,595 per person for the Rhône and Saône, both with 30 departure dates, subject to availability and for bookings made before April 30, 2016.
